No one looks forward to a hospital stay, but at Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center, we work hard to make sure your visit is as pleasant as possible. Here's a few things you should know about your room and our hospital in general that can help make your time with us restful and healing.
Your Bed: Beds are equipped with bed rails to prevent patient falls. For your safety, we ask that you keep the bed rails in place and do not try to get out of bed without assistance unless your physician and/or nurses say that it is safe for you to do so. If you need assistance, you may press the nurse call button, designated by the nurse’s cap, located on the TV remote control, and someone will assist you.
Fire Safety: Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center periodically conducts fire drills. If you hear an alarm, stay where you are. In the event of an actual emergency, hospital staff will instruct you of appropriate action to take.
Smoking: Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center is a tobacco-free hospital. Smoking is permitted only in the Designated Smoking Area located in the gazebo behind the hospital. Patients must have a written order
by their physician in order to smoke in the designated area outside the facility. Please do not smoke in any other areas or discard cigarette butts on the ground.
ATM: For your convenience, an automated teller machine (ATM) is located in the hospital's main lobby.
