EMPORIA, VA (May 23, 2011) – Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center (SVRMC) honored employees with milestone years of service in 2010 at the annual Service Awards Banquet held during National Hospital Week. Staff were invited to a special luncheon where they were recognized for their years of service with a certificate and a gift selection catalog. Employees with twenty, twenty-five, thirty, thirty-five and forty years of service were also presented with flowers and the respective manager spoke to the group about the contributions of these long term employees. During the banquet, special recognition was given to Samuel Jones, Jr. who retired from the hospital pharmacy after 33 years of service.
