Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center Recognized for High Physician Satisfaction
EMPORIA, VA (September 21, 2011) – Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center (SVRMC) has been recognized with the Outstanding Physician Satisfaction Award from Community Health Systems, one of the nation’s leading systems of general acute-care hospitals. The organization includes SVRMC and more than 130 other hospitals in 29 states.
“As Chief of Staff, I am impressed by Southern Virginia Regional Medical Center’s commitment to clinical excellence at every level – employees, administration, and board,” said Dr. Michael Anderson, MD, Chief of Staff. “Their professionalism and the collaborative spirit they embody make this a great place for my colleagues and me to care for patients each day.”
The Outstanding Physician Satisfaction Awards recognize top-performing hospitals that have successfully created an environment conducive for physicians to practice medicine, including efficiency of operations, nursing care, quality of ancillary services and administrative responsiveness. The Award selection is based on results from SVRMC’s annual physician satisfaction survey.
“We understand the importance of creating a great environment for physicians and appreciate Dr. Anderson’s leadership and all of SVRMC’s medical staff members who provide outstanding care for our patients,” said Brit Phelps, Chief Executive Officer of SVRMC.
